Data Deletion

At Hulls.io, we respect your right to control your personal data. You can request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains what data we hold, how to request its deletion, and what happens when we process your request.

1. What Data We Store

When you use Hulls.io, we may store the following personal data:

  • Account information (name, email address, profile picture)
  • Authentication data (login method, OAuth provider identifiers)
  • Yacht listings and associated images you have uploaded
  • Messages and inquiries sent or received
  • Transaction and billing history
  • Usage data and preferences

2. How to Request Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your data in any of the following ways:

Option 1: Delete Your Account

Log in to your account, go to Settings, and select the option to delete your account. This will initiate the deletion of your account and all associated personal data.

Option 2: Email Us

Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account. We will verify your identity before processing the request.

Option 3: Facebook Users

If you signed up using Facebook Login, you can also remove Hulls.io from your Facebook settings under Settings & Privacy > Settings > Apps and Websites. This will notify us to delete your data. Alternatively, use Option 1 or 2 above.

3. What Happens When You Request Deletion

Upon receiving your deletion request:

  • We will verify your identity to protect against unauthorised requests
  • Your account will be deactivated immediately
  • All personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Active yacht listings will be removed from the marketplace
  • Messages and inquiries associated with your account will be anonymised or deleted
  • You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete

4. Data We May Retain

In certain circumstances, we may be required to retain some data even after a deletion request, including:

  • Transaction records required for tax or legal compliance (retained for up to 7 years)
  • Data necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements
  • Anonymised or aggregated data that cannot identify you

Any retained data will be kept securely and only used for the specific purposes outlined above.
