Seller Terms

These Seller Terms ("Seller Terms") govern your use of Hulls.io as a seller listing yachts for sale. These terms supplement our general Terms of Service and apply specifically to sellers on our platform.
By listing a yacht on Hulls.io, you agree to these Seller Terms in addition to our Terms of Service.
1. Seller Eligibility
To list a yacht on Hulls.io, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have legal authority to sell the yacht (owner, authorized agent, or licensed broker)
- Provide accurate identification and contact information
- Agree to our verification process where applicable
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
1.1 Seller Types
Private Sellers
Individual yacht owners selling their personal vessel. Must provide proof of ownership.
Professional Brokers & Dealers
Licensed yacht brokers and dealerships operating through a brokerage account. Must provide business credentials and licensing where applicable.
2. Listing Requirements
2.1 Accurate Information
All listings must include accurate information about:
- Yacht make, model, and year
- Length, beam, and draft measurements
- Engine specifications and hours
- Current location
- Asking price (in the currency specified)
- Any known defects, damage, or issues
- Ownership history and documentation status
2.2 Photographs
Listing photographs must:
- Be of the actual yacht being sold (not stock images)
- Be recent (within the last 12 months unless otherwise stated)
- Accurately represent the yacht's current condition
- Not be digitally altered to misrepresent the yacht
- Be owned by you or you must have rights to use them
2.3 Image & Listing Limits
The maximum number of images per listing and the maximum number of active listings you may hold at any time depend on your chosen subscription tier. Current allowances are displayed on the pricing page and in your seller dashboard.
2.4 Prohibited Listings
You may NOT list:
- Yachts you do not own or have authority to sell
- Stolen vessels or vessels with disputed ownership
- Yachts with undisclosed liens or encumbrances
- Vessels that cannot legally be sold or transferred
- Duplicate listings for the same yacht
- Listings with false or misleading information
- Listings that violate any applicable laws
2.5 One Listing Per Vessel
Only one active listing per individual vessel is permitted on the Platform. Creating multiple listings for the same boat — whether under the same account or different accounts — is strictly prohibited.
Any duplicate listings discovered will be removed without notice. Repeated violations may result in the suspension or permanent closure of the account(s) concerned.
2.6 Accurate Pricing
The price stated on a listing must be the genuine asking price for the vessel. Sellers must not advertise a nominal, artificially low, or misleading price for the purpose of attracting traffic, improving search visibility, or any other reason that does not reflect the true sale price of the yacht.
Listings found to contain inaccurate or misleading pricing will be removed. Repeated violations of this policy may result in the removal of all associated listings and the suspension or permanent closure of the seller's account.
3. Pricing & Fees
3.1 Individual Seller Plans

3.2 Brokerage Plans

Multi-month packages (3-month, 6-month) are also available at discounted rates. Current pricing is always displayed on the pricing page and at checkout. We reserve the right to change our fee structure with reasonable advance notice.
3.3 Success Fees
Hulls.io does not charge success fees or commissions on yacht sales. All transactions are conducted directly between buyer and seller, and any commissions are matters between the parties involved.
4. Subscriptions, Billing & Payments
4.1 Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. Hulls.io does not store your full payment card details — these are handled entirely by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.
4.2 Free Trial
New monthly subscriptions include a 30-day free trial. During the trial:
- A valid payment card is required at checkout
- A £0.00 pre-authorisation will be placed to verify your card — no charge is taken
- You have full access to all features of your chosen plan
- You may cancel at any time before the trial ends and will not be charged
- If you do not cancel, your first payment will be taken automatically on day 31
Free trials are available once per user. If you cancel during a trial and later re-subscribe, a new trial may not be offered.
4.3 Promotional Discounts
From time to time, Hulls.io may offer promotional pricing (e.g. "Launch Offer — 40% Off"). Unless otherwise stated:
- Promotional discounts apply for a fixed period (typically the first 3 months of paid billing after any trial)
- After the promotional period, the standard rate for your plan applies automatically
- Promotional offers may be withdrawn or changed at any time without prior notice to new subscribers
- Existing subscribers on a promotional rate will continue to receive it for the stated duration
- Promotional pricing cannot be combined with other offers unless explicitly stated
4.4 Auto-Renewal
Monthly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period and your payment method will be charged at the then-current rate for your plan. You will receive a payment confirmation by email each time a renewal payment is taken.
Multi-month packages (3-month, 6-month) are one-time payments that do not auto-renew. Your listing will remain active for the purchased duration and then expire.
4.5 Price Changes
We may change our subscription prices from time to time. If we increase the price of your plan, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price takes effect. Your continued subscription after the price change constitutes acceptance of the new price. If you do not wish to pay the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
4.6 Failed Payments
If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or notify you by email. If payment cannot be collected after reasonable attempts, your subscription may be suspended or cancelled and your listings may be deactivated.
5. Cancellation & Refund Policy
5.1 How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal, accessible from your dashboard settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will continue to have access until then.
5.2 Effect of Cancellation
- Your listing(s) will remain active until the end of the current billing period
- After the billing period ends, your listing(s) will be deactivated but not deleted
- You may re-subscribe at any time to reactivate your listings
- No partial refunds are given for unused time within a billing period
5.3 Cooling-Off Period (UK Consumer Rights)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK consumers have a right to cancel an online subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason.
If you wish to exercise this right:
- Contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of your first paid charge
- We will process a full refund of the payment to your original payment method within 14 days
- If you have actively used the service during this period (e.g. published a listing), we may deduct a reasonable amount proportionate to the service already provided
This right does not apply to free trial cancellations (no payment has been taken) or to business-to-business transactions where you are purchasing in the course of your trade or profession.
5.4 Refunds Outside the Cooling-Off Period
Outside of the 14-day cooling-off period, subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, we may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis where:
- The platform was materially unavailable or defective for a significant portion of a billing period
- You were charged in error (e.g. duplicate charge, incorrect amount)
- Your listing was removed by Hulls.io for reasons outside your control

5.5 Listings Removed for Policy Violations
If your listing or account is suspended or terminated due to a breach of these Seller Terms or our Terms of Service, no refund will be provided.
6. Brokerage Accounts
6.1 Brokerage Structure
Brokerage accounts allow yacht brokerages and dealerships to manage multiple team members and listings under a single business account. The person who creates the brokerage account is designated the Owner.
6.2 Team Roles & Permissions

6.3 Team Member Limits
The maximum number of team members depends on your brokerage subscription tier. Limits are displayed in your brokerage dashboard. Invitations count towards the limit until they expire or are revoked.
6.4 Owner Responsibilities
The brokerage Owner is responsible for:
- All billing and subscription payments for the brokerage account
- Ensuring all team members comply with these Seller Terms and our Terms of Service
- The accuracy of all listings published under the brokerage
- Managing team member access and revoking access when team members leave the business
- Ensuring any personal data shared within the brokerage team is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws
6.5 Team Member Data
When a team member joins a brokerage, certain profile information (name, email, job title, photo) may be visible to other team members and displayed publicly on the brokerage profile page and on yacht listing pages where they are the assigned broker. By accepting a brokerage invitation, team members consent to this use of their information.
6.6 Brokerage Termination
If a brokerage subscription is cancelled or terminated, all team member access will be revoked and all listings under the brokerage will be deactivated at the end of the billing period. Individual team members retain their personal Hulls.io user accounts.
7. Seller Responsibilities
7.1 Communication
As a seller, you agree to:
- Respond to buyer inquiries in a timely manner (within 48 hours recommended)
- Communicate honestly and professionally with potential buyers
- Not engage in misleading or deceptive communications
- Report any suspicious or fraudulent inquiries to Hulls.io
7.2 Listing Maintenance
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your listing information up to date
- Updating the price if it changes
- Marking the listing as sold or removing it when no longer available
- Notifying Hulls.io of any material changes to the yacht's condition
7.3 Legal Compliance
You must ensure:
- Clear title and ownership documentation
- Disclosure of any liens, encumbrances, or legal issues
- Compliance with applicable maritime laws and regulations
- Proper documentation for international sales if applicable
- Payment of any applicable taxes or duties
8. Viewings & Inspections
Sellers should be prepared to accommodate reasonable requests for:
- In-person viewings at mutually agreed times
- Professional marine surveys by qualified surveyors
- Sea trials (where appropriate and safe)
- Documentation review
Safety Note: Always conduct viewings in safe, public marina locations. Never provide personal home addresses or conduct viewings alone if you feel uncomfortable.
9. Transaction Process
Hulls.io facilitates connections between buyers and sellers but does not participate in or guarantee transactions. The sale process is conducted directly between parties.
9.1 Recommended Best Practices
- Use an escrow service for payment
- Engage a maritime lawyer for documentation
- Require a professional survey before sale completion
- Use a licensed yacht broker if you need assistance
- Document all communications in writing
9.2 What Hulls.io Does NOT Do
- We do not verify buyer financial status
- We do not hold funds or process yacht sale payments
- We do not guarantee transaction completion
- We do not provide legal or financial advice
- We do not arbitrate disputes between parties
10. Listing Removal & Suspension
Hulls.io reserves the right to remove listings or suspend seller accounts for:
- Violation of these Seller Terms or our Terms of Service
- Fraudulent or misleading listings
- Non-response to buyer inquiries for extended periods
- Multiple complaints from buyers
- Illegal activity or suspected fraud
- Any other reason at our sole discretion
11. Intellectual Property
By submitting listing content (photos, descriptions, specifications), you grant Hulls.io:
- A non-exclusive license to display your content on our platform
- The right to use listing content for marketing and promotional purposes
- The right to modify content for formatting or display purposes
You retain ownership of your content and may request its removal upon listing expiration.
12. Limitation of Liability
HULLS.IO IS A MARKETPLACE PLATFORM ONLY. We do not guarantee sales, buyer quality, or transaction outcomes. Sellers are solely responsible for their listings, communications, and transactions.
We are not liable for any losses, damages, or disputes arising from your use of the platform or any transactions conducted through it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
