Seller Terms

These Seller Terms ("Seller Terms") govern your use of YachtVista as a seller listing yachts for sale. These terms supplement our general Terms of Service and apply specifically to sellers on our platform.
By listing a yacht on YachtVista, you agree to these Seller Terms in addition to our Terms of Service.
1. Seller Eligibility
To list a yacht on YachtVista, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have legal authority to sell the yacht (owner, authorized agent, or licensed broker)
- Provide accurate identification and contact information
- Agree to our verification process where applicable
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
1.1 Seller Types
Private Sellers
Individual yacht owners selling their personal vessel. Must provide proof of ownership.
Professional Brokers
Licensed yacht brokers and dealerships. Must provide business credentials and licensing.
2. Listing Requirements
2.1 Accurate Information
All listings must include accurate information about:
- Yacht make, model, and year
- Length, beam, and draft measurements
- Engine specifications and hours
- Current location
- Asking price (in the currency specified)
- Any known defects, damage, or issues
- Ownership history and documentation status
2.2 Photographs
Listing photographs must:
- Be of the actual yacht being sold (not stock images)
- Be recent (within the last 12 months unless otherwise stated)
- Accurately represent the yacht's current condition
- Not be digitally altered to misrepresent the yacht
- Be owned by you or you must have rights to use them
2.3 Prohibited Listings
You may NOT list:
- Yachts you do not own or have authority to sell
- Stolen vessels or vessels with disputed ownership
- Yachts with undisclosed liens or encumbrances
- Vessels that cannot legally be sold or transferred
- Duplicate listings for the same yacht
- Listings with false or misleading information
- Listings that violate any applicable laws
3. Pricing & Fees
3.1 Listing Fees

3.2 Success Fees
YachtVista does not charge success fees or commissions on sales. All transactions are conducted directly between buyer and seller, and any commissions are matters between the parties involved.
3.3 Refund Policy
Listing fees are non-refundable once a listing is published. If your listing is removed for policy violations, no refund will be provided.
4. Seller Responsibilities
4.1 Communication
As a seller, you agree to:
- Respond to buyer inquiries in a timely manner (within 48 hours recommended)
- Communicate honestly and professionally with potential buyers
- Not engage in misleading or deceptive communications
- Report any suspicious or fraudulent inquiries to YachtVista
4.2 Listing Maintenance
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your listing information up to date
- Updating the price if it changes
- Marking the listing as sold or removing it when no longer available
- Notifying YachtVista of any material changes to the yacht's condition
4.3 Legal Compliance
You must ensure:
- Clear title and ownership documentation
- Disclosure of any liens, encumbrances, or legal issues
- Compliance with applicable maritime laws and regulations
- Proper documentation for international sales if applicable
- Payment of any applicable taxes or duties
5. Viewings & Inspections
Sellers should be prepared to accommodate reasonable requests for:
- In-person viewings at mutually agreed times
- Professional marine surveys by qualified surveyors
- Sea trials (where appropriate and safe)
- Documentation review
Safety Note: Always conduct viewings in safe, public marina locations. Never provide personal home addresses or conduct viewings alone if you feel uncomfortable.
6. Transaction Process
YachtVista facilitates connections between buyers and sellers but does not participate in or guarantee transactions. The sale process is conducted directly between parties.
6.1 Recommended Best Practices
- Use an escrow service for payment
- Engage a maritime lawyer for documentation
- Require a professional survey before sale completion
- Use a licensed yacht broker if you need assistance
- Document all communications in writing
6.2 What YachtVista Does NOT Do
- We do not verify buyer financial status
- We do not hold funds or process payments
- We do not guarantee transaction completion
- We do not provide legal or financial advice
- We do not arbitrate disputes between parties
7. Listing Removal & Suspension
YachtVista reserves the right to remove listings or suspend seller accounts for:
- Violation of these Seller Terms or our Terms of Service
- Fraudulent or misleading listings
- Non-response to buyer inquiries for extended periods
- Multiple complaints from buyers
- Illegal activity or suspected fraud
- Any other reason at our sole discretion
8. Intellectual Property
By submitting listing content (photos, descriptions, specifications), you grant YachtVista:
- A non-exclusive license to display your content on our platform
- The right to use listing content for marketing and promotional purposes
- The right to modify content for formatting or display purposes
You retain ownership of your content and may request its removal upon listing expiration.
9. Limitation of Liability
YACHTVISTA IS A MARKETPLACE PLATFORM ONLY. We do not guarantee sales, buyer quality, or transaction outcomes. Sellers are solely responsible for their listings, communications, and transactions.
We are not liable for any losses, damages, or disputes arising from your use of the platform or any transactions conducted through it.
