Founded in 1842 by Pietro Riva on the shores of Lake Iseo in Lombardy, Riva is one of the oldest and most iconic names in luxury boating. Originally a workshop repairing and building wooden boats for Lake Iseo's fishing fleet, the company was transformed in the 1950s and 1960s by Carlo Riva into the world's most desirable mahogany runabout brand. The Riva Aquarama (1962–1996) became arguably the most beautiful boat ever built, owned by Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, and numerous European royals.
