The Baglietto T52: A Complete Guide
The T52 is a series of 52-metre displacement superyachts built by Baglietto at La Spezia. The exterior is by Francesco Paszkowski Design, and Baglietto describes the line as a contemporary reinterpretation of its traditional steel displacement yachts of under 500 GT. The boats have steel hulls and aluminium superstructures. Baglietto, founded in 1854, is today owned by the Italian Gavio Group.
The line sold before any boat was in the water. When Baglietto announced the sale of the sixth T52 in May 2022, it noted that the first had not yet been launched. That first hull, yard number 10238, was launched at La Spezia in February 2023, and on 17 May 2023 it was presented in Portofino as the first T52 with hybrid propulsion. It has since been delivered as Ark of Fate. By September 2023 Baglietto said it had sold eight T52s; Boat International reported the ninth sale in February 2024, and the builder has since put the total at nine.
The T52 is a semi-custom series rather than a run of identical boats. Engines, propulsion, interior designers and parts of the layout differ from hull to hull, so a figure published for one T52 is not necessarily true of another. It should also not be confused with the two larger T-Line models that followed it: the 54-metre T54, which Baglietto calls the natural evolution of the T52, and the 60-metre T60.
Hulls.io currently tracks 1 active listing for the Baglietto T52. Among them is a 2024 Baglietto T52 listed in Antibes, France, the fourth hull of the series, launched as Dopamine and delivered as Daybreak.

Baglietto T52 Specifications
Baglietto does not publish a single specification for the T52, because the boats are configured individually. The dimensions below are the builder’s figures for the fourth hull, Daybreak; performance figures are given for the hull they were published for. Boat International’s directory lists the first hull at 52 m and 497 GT, with the same 9.5 m beam. Published guest and crew numbers differ between hulls, and between sources for the same hull, so they are not given here.

Design and Layout
The signature features
Baglietto’s releases return to the same signature features hull after hull. The stern is open, with a beach club on three levels, and the large pool can be hidden by a floor that rises and lowers, adding deck space when the pool is not in use; on the first hull the pool is 3.7 metres long. On the upper deck, floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides open to turn the sky lounge into an “al fresco” lounge with conversation and dining areas. Above it, the sundeck is about 24 metres long. On the seventh hull, Baglietto described a retractable staircase at the bow linking the sundeck to a bimini area on the upper deck, forward of the wheelhouse.
Where the hulls differ
The first hull’s interior was designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design in cooperation with Margherita Casprini, with teak floors, leather furniture, Botticino marble in the bathrooms and burnished metal details. The same pairing is credited with the interiors of the second hull, Infinity, and the seventh. Other owners went elsewhere: the third hull, Akula, has an interior by Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design, and Daybreak’s is by Stefano Vafiadis. Layouts change too. Infinity has a private veranda used as a gym, reached directly from the master suite, while on Akula the aft garage was replaced by a gym, and the two jet skis and 5.5-metre tender were moved to the bow.
Propulsion: Diesel and Hybrid
Hybrid propulsion is an option on the T52, not a standard feature. The first hull has it, paired with twin MTU 16V2000 M86 engines. Baglietto quotes a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,600 nautical miles in conventional mode; in diesel-electric mode it quotes a range of up to 7,600 nautical miles, and the yacht can stay at anchor for up to 10 hours on batteries alone. In February 2024 Boat International quoted Baglietto’s chief commercial officer, Fabio Ermetto, as saying that two of the nine T52s sold had hybrid propulsion.
Several later hulls use twin Caterpillar C32 engines instead. Baglietto gives Infinity a maximum speed of 16 knots, and the seventh hull 11 knots cruising and 16 knots maximum. Hull 10253, sold in May 2022 with what Baglietto called an improved hybrid system, pairs C32s with batteries that allow up to 12 hours at anchor, and a range of 4,500 nautical miles in conventional mode; she was launched in December 2025 as Marsa Luna, the eighth T52 to reach the water. The ninth hull sold, 10261, was announced with twin MTU 12V2000 M86 engines and a maximum speed of 17 knots.
In March 2024 Baglietto announced a new hybrid system, developed with Siemens Energy and CGT, to be installed on its hybrid T52 and DOM133 yachts from 2025. It combines a Caterpillar C32 ACERT engine with a compact hybrid unit containing a 180 kW electric machine, which works both as an electric propulsion motor and as a shaft generator. Baglietto lists diesel, diesel shaft-generation, diesel-electric and full electric modes, with speeds of up to 9 knots in diesel-electric mode. Which hulls carry this system has not been published, so check the specification of any individual boat.
The 2024 World Superyacht Award
The first hull won the 2024 World Superyacht Award in the category for displacement motor yachts of 499GT and below, 45 metres and above. Boat International lists the Baglietto T52 as the category winner, and Baglietto reported that the ceremony was held at the Venetian Arsenal. According to the judges’ citation quoted by the builder, they singled out the 135-square-metre sundeck as “one of the best spaces onboard”, the three-level beach club with its 3.7-metre pool and retractable floor, the hybrid propulsion, and the retractable staircase joining the sundeck to the forward lounge on the upper deck.
The Fourth Hull: Daybreak
Daybreak was launched at La Spezia in June 2024 as Dopamine, the fourth T52 to reach the water, and Boat International reported her delivery as Daybreak later that year. Baglietto’s own page for the yacht, titled “Daybreak Ex Dopamine”, gives an overall length of 52.32 m, a beam of 9.5 m, 497 GT, twin Caterpillar C32 engines, a cruising speed of 11 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots. The exterior is by Francesco Paszkowski Design and the interior by Stefano Vafiadis.
Boat International described the interior as “inspired by the American Deco art movement”, with teak floors, Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble and onyx details. Its delivery report placed a full-beam master suite on the main deck, four guest cabins on the lower deck and a nanny cabin on the upper deck, with quarters for 10 crew. Current sale and charter listings for the yacht give 494 GT and differing guest numbers, so confirm the figures against the yacht’s documents.
How It Compares
Baglietto T54. Announced in March 2025, the T54 is a 54-metre yacht of under 500 GT, again by Francesco Paszkowski Design. Baglietto calls it the natural evolution of the T52. The aft area still runs over three levels but is larger, with a lounge around an infinity pool and a spa and gym reached from the beach platform; the owner’s suite gains a private veranda, a guest cabin is added on the upper deck, and the sundeck grows to 150 square metres. It uses Caterpillar C32 engines for a top speed of 16 knots, with hybrid propulsion on request. The first hull arrived at the yard for fitting out in November 2025, with delivery scheduled for 2027.
Baglietto T60. A step up in size and volume: about 60 metres and approximately 1,100 GT, again with exterior design by Francesco Paszkowski Design and interiors developed with Margherita Casprini. The first T60, hull 10260, was launched at La Spezia in March 2026, and Baglietto describes her as the largest yacht it has built.
Buying a Baglietto T52
Every T52 is a recent build, and with so much varying from boat to boat, the starting point is to establish exactly which hull is on offer and how it was specified. Several have already changed name: the fourth was launched as Dopamine and delivered as Daybreak, and Boat International lists the first hull, Ark of Fate, as formerly Pachamama II.
What to check
- The yard number and build history, including any earlier names.
- Which engines are fitted (MTU or Caterpillar), and whether the yacht has hybrid propulsion and, if so, which generation of the system.
- For a hybrid boat, the condition and service records of the battery system.
- Gross tonnage, guest and crew capacity as stated in the yacht’s own documents, since published figures vary.
- The layout as built: gym, garage and tender arrangements differ between hulls.
- Operation of the moving parts that define the design: the pool’s movable floor, the opening sky-lounge windows and, where fitted, the retractable bow staircase.
- Remaining builder warranty, and a full survey by a surveyor experienced with steel and aluminium yachts.
Asking prices depend on the hull, its specification and how it has been used. The listings on this page show what sellers are asking today. Browse every Baglietto yacht for sale.
